Tho weather was beautiful for the C.J.C. Grand National meeting to-day, and the attendance was tho largest yet assembled at a Grand National meeting. The sport was very good, some of the races proving very excitinjj. The Steeplecha6O was a pretty race, tho jumping being really excellent. L 6562 passed through the totalisator. Before the last fence Morok retired, and Ahua, jumping it very prettily, went on, and won by three lengths from his stable companion Norton, who had made up his ground very fast in the last half mile, Magpie a neck away third, Whalebone fourth, Morok 6f th, Waitangi sixth, the remounted Sir Garnet last. The attendance was again very good. A number of falls occurred, but none of the jockeys were seriously injured. Kulnino won the chief race very easily. The North Island horse Whalebone improved on his first day's running, and beat Ahua easily in the Beaufort Steeplechase. Tho sum of L 6042 passed through the machine. Results : —
