Notes from Wakatipu.
Fhom Our Own Correspondent.)
Aiinow, July 30.— The week now ending has been noted for very keen frosts quite severe enough to stop mining in mo-,t parts of the dihtiict. The frost is welcome in so far that it will help to harden the snow upon the hills, upon which the summer's water supply for mining purposes depends, and of which theie is by no means even an average quantity, and unlesb the supply is eked out by frequent showers there will be a dearth of the essential element in mining during the coming summer. Mr Edwin J. Foord, dredgemaster and manager of the Sew Hoy Big Beach Co., has resigned hib position, and is about to leave the district where he has been located for upwards of 20 years.
