ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS. J. S.— (l) I cannot say what will remove hairs from moles, but a solution of perchloride of iron painted on the moles dnily is recommended for removing the moles themselves. If that does not prove effective, try two drops of creosote mixed in a bottle with a tablespoonful of water, and applied night and morning. (2) Your experience in endeavouring to make your hair grow seems to be that of everyone eise. Nothing seems to have the effect desired. Cantharides is supposed to be the active principle in all hair restorers, and any chemist will make you up a preparation containing it. I have at different times recommended acetic acid reduced to the strength of vinegar (one of acid to seven of water), rubbed in for quarter of an hour daily, followed with a little salad oil, but have not yet heard of it proving effective in any case. The friction is supposed to nourish tho roots of the hair by causing a flow of blood to the scalp. One correspondent who has tried this for 18 months says the hair is just beginning to grow, but I shall require something more definite than this before I can confidently recommend the treatment.
