Somethin Worth Knowing.
A Lancashire tradesman was one day busy at his desk, when a poor, broken-down looking man came and asked for relief. The tradesman refused him, and ordered him out of the place. The man, however, persisted, Baying that for sixpence he would tell him something which might some day be of great value to him. Thinking the man might know something
which it might pay him to know, he gave the man the sixpence. The man looked round to see that no one was within hearing, then whispered in his ear: "Iv iver tha' gets i' gaol, an' 'as to tread th' mill, tak' th' side nearest tot wall, j I've tried it mesel', an' thall find it th' easiest."
