The Influenza Sufferer.
Dobson called upon one of the influenza sufferers and sympathised with him in the trouble he is having to bear. He: "Thadkyou very butch, ad awful tibe of it, by boy."
D : " And you don't seem out of the wood yet?" He : " Dot be. Ib right id the thick ov id." D. : " How does your head feel ? " He : " Like a blagsbith's shop. Bight be twedty sledge habbers goig all ad a tibe."
D. : " Are you taking anything for it 7 "
He: "Takig adythig? Bucketsful, my boy. Bud as to hadkerchiefs, well, there'll have to be adother washid day this week."
D: "Well, yon must be patient, you know."
He: "Quide so. Do choice, is there? Oh! — ah! — weigh vb — loog out! — ids — ids — cobig — lbe goig to sdeez ; ad ids like a blizzard."
Dobson left him shaking the house to the foundations.
[N,B. — The above story applies to the type of ailment known as the Influenza Sneezina. The "Grip" type is different, and patients don't sneeze at all with that. This explanation is made in order to preserve Mr Dobsoh's reputation for veracity.}
