Rotes from Reeften.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Rbeston, July 18.

Stock Exchange report:— The weekly yield of am'ilgam ffrom the Alpine, Fiery Cross, Cumberland, No. 2 Dark, and Globe batteries gives a total of 12140z, being a substantial increase on that of laßt week, even although the Big Kiver and Progress are yet absent; while in the case of the Dark tne uaual cleaning up did not take place. A marked material improvement is noticeable in tbe Fiery Cross crushing, while the others are uniformly good. Hard frosts and a frozen water supply continue at the Big River, compelling a stoppage of crushing after about 30 tons had gone through. The result of the Golden Lead crushing may be looked for about Saturday next if as it is at present contemplated the cleaning up is to be then made, and whatever outside appearances may be regarded as indicating, tbe boxeß have always turned out well on former occasions. Increasing the number of stampers is likely to be one of the next first works undertaken by this company, and with such a body of stuff to operate uoon the reproductiveness of such an addition is more than assured. The share market has shown but very little buoyancy this week, and what business has taken place was done within a restristed scale. A number of lines have scarcely been operated in, while the stationary condition prevailing has not b?en altogether limited to smaller priced shares. Early in the week Big Eiver had good inquiry, with few in the market, and later on butiaess was done at 18s 6d, with an easier tendency, doubtless caused by the temporary stoppage to crushing. Sellers of Cumberland ask an advance on last week's quotations, and Exchange Bold at from 2s 3d to 2s 6d, with a disposition on mosfj holders' parts to await the further extension of the level. Parcels of Golden Lead changed hands at 9s, and Gallant advanced and remained in a trifle better place than laßt week. General Gordon

sold at low rates, and buyers of Dark are unsnpplied at the figure offered to-day. Lord Edward had a turn at 4s to 4s 3d, and No. 2 Dark at ss. These latter have had pretty fair inquiry, although there is not enough briskness about to put buyers in a bolder buying humour. Sellers are asking a slight advance. Boatman's shares show little alteration. Oid issue Welcome sold at 4s, while the improvement in Fiery CroRS should Boon lead to ousineao in these shares. The Un'ted Alpine, Lyell, is at length assuming a steadier position in the market, and business between 18s and 18s 6d has been done lately In shares.

The following are the battery returns-.— Alpine, 381oz amalgam from 240 tons; Cumberland, IB3oz from 120 tons; Globe, 1390z from 185 tons; Fiery

I Cross, 3490z from 87 tons ; No. 2 Dark, 1620z from J9O tons ; Inglewood tributers, 1460z from 70 tons.
