A quarter of a mile from home the favourite was in difficulties, and at this point Bouthiilier resumed the command from Ghibbie, Acrobat, and Metallic. At the distance Chibbie challenged Bouthillier, and for a few strides threatened to wear him down, but he struggled on nobly under the weight, and won by three-parts of a length.
