SANDYMOUNT.
June 15.— The Sandymount Literary and Debating Society held a meeting in the school on Saturday last, Mr M'Gregor in the chair. There was a fair attendance, and a good deal of interest was taken in the proceedings. Mr C'ick read a paper on " Elliot's Patent Smoke Annihilator," and showed carbon obtained by the process. Mr M'Curdy read an essay on " The Working Man," showing a working man's and a common sense view of other classes of society, which was well received Mr Rutherford lectured on " Astronomy," describing the moon and Saturn.
