THE WOOL SALES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, January 20 :— " Antwerp wool sales opened firm and active ; brisk competition, but, on closing, rates of last eate's prices chow a decline of o'lo centimes." Ohkistchurch, January 22.- Over 6000 bales of wool were submitted to-day. Prices generally were much the same as at the last sales for bright, clean well skirted half breds, but there was a tendency to a slight fall towards the end of the sale in croisbreds and merinos. John Dean's fit at combing, half bred, brought Ud, and second combing lid, the highest price this season.
