Great interest was taken not only in the city of Dunedin bat throughout the whole of Ofcago in the general election on Friday, and most strenuous efforts were made by all the candi- > dates for parliamentary honours, and by the friends of candidates, to hare every available vote recorded, the result being that in the majority of the constituencies there was exceptionally heavy polling.
