At time of writing the weather promises rain which will be gladly welcomed all over the district. Farmers are at thia season somewhat busy np country; in addition to their ordinary pursuits matters political are engaging their attention, and consequently they have no time to *pare to visit the metropolis. Wheat remains unaltered, the fluctuations in the Home markets not being reflected hens. Oatsi But few transadlons may be noted, only prime milling being inquired for. Barky 5 The< season may be said to be over. Beans and! Peas : But little business passing. Dairy Produce: No material alteration in value of butter 1 or-cheese can be noted, though a somewhat improved! demand la noticeable for the former. Quotations a* follows :— Wheat : Tuscan, 33 6d to 3a tsd; pearl, 3s 4dto 3s 5d ; Hunter's, 3s 3d to 3s 4d. Oats : Milling la 7d ; bright short feed, la 6d ; inferior, la 2d to Is 4d. Barley : Nominal for malting ; feed, le 6d to la Bd. Beans and Pease : 2s 6d for the former, and 2s 3d to 2s 4d for the latter. Dairy Produce : Potted butter. 6Jd to 7d ; cheese (large »iz«>, 3d to 3sd; small loaf ahapea, 4d. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery f o.b. liytfcrtion, Sacks extra.
