Messrs Lobie and Roy, auctioneers and produce agents. High street, Dunedin, report for the week ending 3rd December as follows :—: —
Poultry. — Scarce. At our weekly 6ale on Friday last the following prices ruled :— Hens, 2a Id to 2a 7d ; average 2a 4d, not much enquiry; cocks, 4a 7d; average 48 7d, in good demand. Ducks, 4s to 5b Id ; average 4s 9d. No turkeys or geese forward, Oat».— Very dull ; bright feed, Is 3d to la 3}d ; off colour, 1b Id to la 2il. Derwent potitoe* have again fallen, and are hard to tell ; prime are worth 50a ; kidneya, newly dug from the Peninaula, lsd; we can fill any order in 24 hours. Green peas, Id to 1 id: Gooaeberriee, Id to l£d. Salt butter. — No Inqniry yet, fresh being so plentiful. Freßh butter ia very plentiful locally, 5d to 7d beat brands. Eggs, very plentiful. Bacon. — Almost unsaleable; we quote prime 5Jd to 6d. Hams, Bd. Pigs,— Very hard to sell, up to 1001b, 3Jd ; heavier, 2Jd to 3d. Cheese.— New aeaaon, 3|d and 4d, dull. Rabbitskins. — Firm at laat quotations ; spring, lOd to la ; late winters, Is 3d ; Prime winters up to Is 6d. Sheepßkins.— Firm ; merinos, 23 to 4a 3d ; croasbreda, 4s to 5a 6d. Hides, l£d to 3d. Fruit. —We landed a shipment of oranges and lemons this week, and can alao quote peanuta, walnuts, Barcelonas, dates, Druuea, and fige.
