The annual report of the South Canterbury Refrigerating Company states that 86,035 sheep and lambs were frozen during the year. A dividend of 8 per cent, has been declared, and £6745 carried forward. On starting the new works in September the charge for freezing will be reduced to fd. The enlarged works require an output of 200,000 to pay a« well as the original work*. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have reoolved tbe following telegram from their London office, dated 2nd insfc. :—" Wheat: Market generally better. New Zealand wheat (f.a.q.). to arrive/iron ship, is worth c.i f. 36s 3d per 4801b (September-October bill of lading) ; New Zealand wheat, longberried, is worth 37s Gd, and average 35s 9d per 4961b."
