PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held at the office of the board, Highcliff, on Saturday, when there were present: Messrs Stuart, Robertson. Somerville, Beattie, Reikie, and Murray. — Mr Aitken'a tender for cutting and filling on road to Hooper's Inlet for £50 l?s was aooepted, an amendment by Mr Robej tion— " That nothing be done till a meet* ing 6? gettiers coil^er "hnthcr it \$ desirable"^ failing to find support. Two of the suti C oCCinen' with a horse and dray were instructed to do a week's work on Shand's road. Two stone culverts were ordered to be put in at Fergusson's, and two of the surfacemen wete ordered to widen No. 3 road.— Mr John White wrote requesting the board to remove drain pipes and alter culvert on the Anderson's Bay road. The letter was received, and the clerk ordered to acknowledge its receipt. — Mr A. M'Kay appeared before the board, and urged that steps should be taken to prevent his paying rates to two boards for the same land. The clerk was directed to write to the Portobello Road Board and to the Property Tax Commissioner.—Accounts amounting to £59 15s 5J were passed for payment.
