DUNEDIN AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.

A meeting of the General Committee of the D.AA. Club was held at the O.H.F.U. roorra on Tuesday night, Dr Roberts presiding Among those present was the club's hon. handicapper (Mr D. Duncan), who attended by" request. A letter of apology was received from Mr G. L. Denniston, president, for non-attendance. The report of the sub-committee with regard to the cross-country run, to be held on November 15, was discussed and finally adopted, it being decided that the course should be from St. Clair to Woodeaton and back to Sfc. Clair. It was resolved that the entries for the run should close on the 30th inst., and in order to give competitors an opportunity of forming some idea ef the country it was decided that a paper chase should take place on the Ist of November over the cross-country course. It waa stated that Dr Eoberts had given a very valuable challenge cup, which would be competed for annually in connection with the cross-country run ; the cup to become the owner's property after he has won it three times. The committee decided to give a number of prizes for the cross-country run on the following conditions .—Six prizes if there are 25 starters, five prizes if 20 start, four if 15 start, three if 10 start. Ten must start or no third priza will be giveu. Ifc was agreed that the run should be a handicap, and that ifc should be open to members of the Dunedin Amateur Athletic Ciub, and all bona fide amateurs who are members of recognised football, cricket, cycling, rowing, gymnastic, and tenni3 clubs ; also University students, and High School boys, or any other amateurs introduced by a member of committee; the committee reserving the right to refuse any entry. A letter was received from Christchurch from the hon. Secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, forwarding a copy of the association rules, and, asking the club to revise their rules in accordance with those of the association. — A sub-committee consisting oi Messr Morrison, Ness, aud T. Kerr (secretary),, was appointed to revise the rules accordingly. The programme for the club's annual- sports,, which included 16 events, was adopted. The following new members were elected : — Messrs Crosby Morris, H. D. Stronacb, E. Paul,. W. M'Leod, W. F. Collins, R. M. Isaacs, George M'Laren, j. M'Bride, D. Munro,' and- S. Batchelor. Mr J. Howlison'a resignation as a member of the committee was accepted, on account o£' his intended departure from Dunediu. Regret wasexpressed at the fact nf his resigning,, and a. vote of thanks was accorded him for his pasfr services.
