The Australians followed on, and in their second innings have lost six wickets for 105 runs. Murdoch played a brilliant innings for 43. Trott made 28. September 17 The Australians only succeeded in making 142 in their second innings, and the South of England made the required 19 runs wanted to win without the Iqss of a wicket. | September 19.. The match proceeding afc Manchester is against an All-England Eleven, and not against Lancashire. It was arranged to take the place of the game which was abandoned in consequence of the rain in August. The Australians totalled 234 in their first innings, Barrett contributing 97 and Murdoch 57. All-England have lost one wicket for 10 runs. The All-England team have lost five | wickets for 107 runs. Qunn played a faultless innings for 49, and Pell is not out with 31. The first innings of the Englishmen closed for IG7. Pell was not out with 55. Sugg played a dashing innings for 31. Turner took four wickets for 83 runs, and Ferris six for 78. The Australians in their second innings made 186. Lyons played a brilliant innings for 56, and Barrett carried out his bat for a faultless 73. The match was drawn.

Further matches have been arranged with the Australians, and a match has been commenced against Lancashire. The Australians have lost seven wickets for 190 runs.

September 22. The Sportsman considers the Australian team disappointing, and the trip the most disastrous yet made. The Sporting Life also stigmatises the tour as a failure and urges that a more capable team should be sent in 1892.
