August 19.— The great question of the Eddystone street railway has been Battled, and there appears to be ft deal of dissatisfaction over It. A number of objections were lodged against* the line taking that route, but these were of no avail, and the powers that be, by a majo'ity, carried a resolution to the effeob that the company be allowed to use Bddystone street for a period of five years at a yearly rental of £60. The ohoir also did good service, and rendered several items in a manner that showed careful training and practice.
