WHEEL NOTES BY DEMON.
At the Queen's Park Football' Olub sports, held at Glasgow on June 7, a few oy cling records were lowered. H. E. Laurie, Of the Oatford 0.0., established a new record for Scotland in the Mile Safety Race, his time { being 2tnin 44 2 sseo, which takes a second off the previous record (his own). In the Two- i mile Safety Race, J. E. Young, We*t of Soot- | land Harriers, on a pneumatic safety, broke the record, doing the distance in smin 46 4 ssec. In the Half-mile Bicycle Handicap, R. A. j Vogt, West of Scotland Harriers, made a new ; record in his heat, covering the distance in' lmin 19 4 6seo, but he failed in the final, having to be content with third place. At the Kildare Athletic Olnbs sports a week later, Laurie made a record for two miles, in smin 22 S sseo, and F. J. B. Archer beat the Flying Quarter record, doing 83 l-sseo. The Five-mile Championship of Australia, run on August 2, in connection with the New South Wales Cycling Union, waß won with ease by the young Sydney rider W. L. Kerr, who rode a very plucky raoe. The Melbourne and Adelaide representatives, who started in this race, did not 6nish, although Davis, the Adelaide man, intimated afterwards that this was the only raoe he bad ever started in and which he had not finished.
