SALE OF PICTURES.

A highly successful sale of original paintings took place yesterday at the rooms of Messrs James A. Park and Co. The collection consisted of many valuable pictures, principally in oil, and attracted a large number of buyerß. Over 80 pictures wore disposed of. Gibb), £4, Mr Stevens j " Fish Curing, Port Chalmers " (J. Gibb), £6, Mr Stevens; "Head of George Sound" (J. Gibb), £5 10s, Mr R. Chi 8 holm; "LakeWakatipu (O. Blomfleld), £7, Dr Mauneell ; "Lake Tekapo" (0. Blomfield), £6, Mr B. Ohisholm; " The Coffee Cups, White Terrace" (C. Blomfield), £5 10s, Mr Purvesj "Mount Aspiring" (0. Blomiield), £8 Bs, Judge Ward ; " Wear the Head of Milford Sound" (J. D. Perrett), £4 12s 6d, Mr J. Chisholm. Many of the smell subjects by Messrs Blomfiold, L.W.Wilson, and J. D. Perrett feund ready buyers after keen competition.
