The hon. secretary of the Mataura Club writes: -On the 2nd inst. the annual match President | v. We can congratulate the editor on the quality of his work, and wish we could do so on the success of his labours. As it is, No. 11l is to be the last of the series, owing to lack of Bupport, American Checker Weekly. The American Checker Weekly, a new publication devoted to the " auld farrant" game, is edited and published by by Mr Frar.k A. Marah, Milan, Ohio. It is a small four-page paper, filled with everything interesting to a draughtsplayer. If the support acoorded the first number is only continued, the Checker Weekly will be a decided success.
