Before reaching the distance Danbydale had dropped clean away, and Martley was then challenged by Johnny Morgan on the stand side and Thunderstorm on his whip band.' He did not apparently relish either attention, as in the first place he attempted to savage Thunderstorm, and secondly swerved against Johnny Morgan and drove him out of his path, so that the finish was of a scrambling nature, and ended in favour of the Duke of Portland's representative by a neck ; a length and a-half divided second and third.
