The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held on Wednesday, and was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (chief commissioner), H. Clark,' J. W. Thomson, W. Dallas, and J. Ouncan. 1 Kurow.— Richard Thomas asked that his case with referents-*' to his application to obtain a reduction In price of his deferred-pa vtnent eection 6, block VIII, Kurow, be considered. — The board agreed that they had no power ia the meantime to grant a reduction. Upper Owake.- George Glllesple asked to be allowed two months in which to pay interest due by j him, as at present he could not realise on his grain on account of bad roads.— Extension of time agreed to. i Applications.— The applications for rural land on deferred payments and rural land on perpetual lease, which were settled by ballot on' the 14th inst., were confirmed. The following other applications were granted:— For village settlement land on deferred payments : Mftthew M'Laughlin, section 27, block XIV; Tuapelca West, To transfer perpetual leases '■ Mary Pullar to David Pullar. Bection 5, block I, Catlins ; Benjamin Charles to W. J. Gh&rles, section 4&, block 111, Lauder. To' exchange deFerred payment for perpetual lease: Thomas' Ma'whinney, section 3, block XI, Naseby. For prospecting Hceasee for 12 months to search for gold outside raining districts : John Cumine, to search sost5 ost the foreshore along blocks IX; X, XI, and XII, Coast district; John Greig, senior, to search oh an area on the Moeraki beaches. Frhneis Buchanan asked the board to rescind' 'the forfeiture of his deferred-payment section 19, block *l l, Tuapeka Went,' and alloW him to cnpitaliße.— ' granted. Joseph Dale 'asked the board to accept surrender of hla" Derp'etual lease' sections 6' and 7, block V, Dunbacb.— Surrender accepted, the land ;hjiving been applied- for 1 t»y mistake. ; Livingstone.— John Mulvena wrote stating that he had paid interest due on his land, and drew the board's attention to the fact that the' roads were not being properly attended to. — Letter to' be forwarded t6 the county council for consideration.
