BALD HILL FLAT.
August 19. — Everyone here is busy with the usual spring work. There has been little or no frost since last week, so that a good deal of work has been done by the farmers and others here. At linkers, a few nliles from here, there is every likelihood of a rush. A private party of miner'sl,who were sinking a shaft just to employ their winter hoiira have gone about 140 ft below the übuel bottom and have struck a layer of good gold-bearing stuff, giving 9dwt to the dish. This coming summer has every appearance of beiDg a bad one for miners on-the Old Man Bange. There appears to be very little more snow now than there was at the beginning of the winter. The gullies, which tho miners depend on to maintain a steady supply of water, are as bare as the flat itself. Very little damage has been done to the races this winter, so that there will be little or no " dead horse" work,
