(From Chicago Evening Lamp.) The following interesting game waß played at the Chicago Club between Mr Robert Freer and Mr L. B. Starkweather. (Jamb 1338—" Switcher." Starkweather's move.
a Forms the notable 29 25 Switcher. b Leading to a neat finish. c Solution to Position No. 104. d When Mr J. P.- Reed arrived in our city he told Mr Starkweather he could draw, he thought, with 89, and did so with some of the club members. However, Mr Reed did not say positively it would draw. He continued with one of the experts as follows :—
c Will some of our readers show a forced win ? Mr Heed has nob furnished any play showing a draw, and we are inclined to think he knawa there is no draw to be had.
