BALD HILL FLAT.

; Apbil 22.— Thrashing has been retarded somewhat during the past week, but there is every appearance now of a favourable spell. Some crops in other plaoes than the Flat are not going to $bre'sl) out so well as was expected when they were standing. The heads filled too fast, 'and from crops with 6traw enough for 70 bushels to the acre there will be got on an average only about 40, and in many paddocks considerably less than that. As threshing is not yet general on the Flat, the exact yield cannot be ascertained. We are waiting for a mill from the Teviofc, as our small mill here would take too long, and would be likely to prove too expensive for a 600-acre crop. Mining Mattkbs are still very quiet. There is plenty of water, so that it is all" the more annoying when a spell of bad weather sets in.
