Reefton Mining Notes. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

Rbefton, April 18. United Alpine.— There is nothing yet in the nature of official information regarding the new reef, though general report says that the lode has been driven through, and is sft thick at the top and 3ft at the bottom, but does not show gold. There is nothing doing jin the shares, buyers not caring to give the figure asked, and holders not oaring to sell for less. There seems to be a general feeling of "funk," and no business is likely to be done in the shares until some more definite news is receivad.

Globe.— lt is reported that the reef, both at the north and south end, looks remarkably well, and the shares are in consequence very firm at about 25s to 265. The reef at the west end, which a few days ago seemed to be pitching northwards towards the Jubilee lease adjoining, has since taken a slight inclination westward) though its general direction is still well to the northward. April 21.

The following are the battery returns for the past week :— Globe, |3030z amalgam, from 190 tons; Golden Treasure, 1360z amalgam, from 36 tons.
