Mr Gollan's eh c Jet d'Eau, 3yrs, 6,10 (Peters) 1 Mr Bereßford's b h Escutcheon, 4yrs, 8.6 (Ksan) 2 Mr Hepburn's eh g Audacity, syra, 8.8 (F Stowe) 3 Leander, Kotuku, Kariri, Turihau, Tennyson, and Dauphine also started. In the straight Jet d'Eau came clear away from the remainder of the field, winning by fully four lengths. Escutcheon and Audacity fought out a stern battle for second honours, which Escutcheon secured by a head. Turibau was fourth, Leander, who had made up a lot of ground, fifth, Eotuku sixth, Dauphine seventh, Kariri eighth, and Tennyson a bad last. Time, lmin 17 4-sseo. The result was received by the public with groans, on account of the different form shown by the winner to-day and at Hastings last week, Dividends, £13 16s and £19 10s.
