The programme committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club have completed the work of arrang. ing the programmes for the year ; and it will be satisfactory to the sporting public to learn that the reductions made in the added money are only trifling, amounting in all over the whole four meetings to only £60. For the Spring meeting on the 30fch November and Ist December there a number of small reductions which are not likely to have any effect upon the success of the meeting. The Three-mile Trot is reduced £5, the Post Stakes £5, the Hunters' Plate £10, Novel Race £5, Tahuna Welter Handicap £10, and the Two-mile Trot £5 ; making altogether £40. For the Autumn meeting 1889, on Feb* ruary 20th, 21st, and 23rd, the chief event, the Dunedin Cup, is reduced by £100, the added money now being £600. The Suburban Welter is reduced by £20. Against this, however, the Marshall Memorial Stakes on the third day are increased £50, and with the 200sovs added money will form one of the features of the people's day. The Anniversary meeting remains the same as in previous years. The May meeting on May 24th and 25th has an addition in added money of £50 to the two principal events, the Birthday Handicap being increased by £30 and the Provincial Handicap by £20. Alto* gether the D.J.C. have put forward enticing programmes. .
