At the closp of to-day's play England had lost five wickets for 185 runs. ' August 13. The fielding of the All-England Eleven in the first innings of the' Australians was splendid, and Lohmann/ disposed of both M'Donnell and Bannerman by grand catches. Peel took one wicket fdr 14: runs, Lohmann one for 25, Barnes t;wo for 18, and Briggs .dean bowled five for. p,5. ' -August 14. i The cricket match between the Australians and All-England was resumed to-day. The Englishmen continued their innings; Abel and Sugg, the not-ont men of the previous day, taking their positions at the wickets. The former was dismissed after adding five to hi 3 previous total, but Sugg raised his total to 31 before losing his wicket. The innings closed for 317. The remaining scores were : — Peel 25, Briggs 0, Lohmann (not out) 62.
