August 13.— There passed away on the sth instant, at Hamiltous, another old identity in the person of Mrs Henry Flamauk. Mauy of your readers will remember reading in the Witness the obituary notice of the Rev. Henry Flamank, a pioneer Wesleyan missionary, whose demise took place at Hamiltons about 18 months ago. The deceased lady was his relict, and her name, like that of her husb ,nd, ia a household word wherever she was known. Her deeth was c. used by consumption ot the larynx. Her husband's trouble was consumption of the lungs, and there can be little doubt thnt her rievoU d tenderness and care to him resulted in her contracting the fell d'sease. For months past she has b?en an acute sufferer, and has been under the care of her two daughten, Misses Mary and Ethel Flamank, and her niece. Miss Gordon. The firstnamed young lady is teacher at Hamiltons, whilst one of the dee. sen's sous, Mr Oscar D. Flamank, iB also a teacher in the service of the Education Board. The respect in which the family are held was shown by the large pttendanco at the funeral, which took place at Hr.miltons on the 7th instant, for, in spite of the very severe weather, about 100 persons were presort, which is a large muster for to small a town. Amona those present were many yvho were sincere pnd e.-riiest mourners and personal friends. The beautiful and impressive burial service of the Church of Kngland wps ably conducted by the Rev. Mr Davis, of Naseoy, Mesßrs John and Oscar F'lmank being chief mourners. The body was laid beside that of thejhusband, to whose memory loving friendß have erected a splendid granite headstone.
