The execution of Maxwell, the murderer of Preller, took place to-day at San Francisco. Maxwell, the murderer, who was executed to-day at San Francisco, confessed to. the crime, but complained that he had been, treated with injustice. [Hugh M. Brooks, alias Maxwell, ifc will be remembered, after the murder made his way to-New Zealand, and was captured at Auckland some three years ago.
