LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the' Land Board on Wed nesday was attended by Messrs Maitlgnd, Logan, Clark, and Dallas. Dunedin. — The Dunedin Town Clerk having written that the council objected to Mr John Colvin'a application fur a Crown grant of the watercourse intersecting section 10, block XXXVI, Dunedin, being granted, the board declined the application. - MAtuotfOTO.— P. M'Cluskey having paid the sum of £50 16s 3d on his perpetual lease section in Maniototo, it was resolved that the resolution forfeiting his lease be rescinded. Peter Daw asked permission to purchase the western portion of section 1, block XIV, Maniototo, being portion of the land held by Molu9key.— Applicant to bs informed that forfeiture of JiTCluskey'fl license had been rescinded, and therefore his application could not be received. Glenomahu.— The surrender of Moses M'Lay's interest in perpetual lease section 24; block IV, Glenomaru, was accepted. Tuapeka East. — An application by Josiah Mcc to purchnse eection 3, block I, Tuapeka East, was approved. Blacks.— -Iho District Land Officer nt Clyde, reporting on the suggestion by the lxnrd that P. Harrington should obtain an entrance for his stock through Bhicks commonage to the river, stated that th^re was no objection to his having a grazing right over pait of the commonttge on condition that he fence>l the same a d paid a fair rent*— Government to be recommeuded accordingly. Stbath-Taieri.— Wm. Brown, who owed four years' rent on perpetual lease section 35, block IX, Strath-Taieri, amounting to £200, hnd his license forfeited, and the ranger was authorised to make valuation of improvements. Rojid l>itfKs.— Plans of road lines in Vincent, Waitaki, Tunpeka, and Waiknuaiti counties, on which it is proposed to spend £268, £182, £91, and £87 respectively, were approved. Applications.— lhe result of the balloting for land which touk place Inst Thursday was approved. — Capitalisation was authorised in the case of Louis D. Aster, tection 15, block VIII, Kurow. Shotover.— lt was resolved to mnke a reduction in the area of Henry Graham's agricultural lease, section 48, block XXI, fchotover, two acres having been taken for an extended claim. St. Bathans. — An application by H. Excell that the land in St. Bat.hans township be withdrawn from sale onaccount of its auriferous nature, was referred to the ranger for a report. Clyde — Ranger Shaw haying resigned hia position at Clyde, the board appointed District Surveyor Barron to value improvements on Messrs Weir and Smith's holdings.
