At the mile post Lady Aline was slightly in front, and retained that position at'the Canal Point from Chippeway, Kilcreene, Sub Rosn, and Plantagenet, with the others closing up along the bottom except Decision. Into the straight Lady Aline was sharply' pressed by Kilcreene and Radius, with Plantagenet taking a good berth on the inside from Gautby and Nappa. Soon afterwards Lady Aline, Radius,'and Chippeway were in trouble; and with Plantagenet and Kilcreene then left at the head of affairs the favourite always had the best, of it, and won cleverly by three-parts pf ,a length, three lengths dividing second and third. Chippeway was fourth, Sub Rosa fifth, Radius sixth, Gautby seventh, Decision eighth, Nappa ninth, and Lady Aline last. Time by Benson's chronograph, 2min 13 4-sfch sec. Value of the stakes, £685.
