MINING.
White's Reef r ,Guld Mining Company (Limitud). — The mine manager reports for wenk ending Bth January :—■ " Since my last the interiui-diattt west drive has been extended 12ft. The reef is about 2ft thick and payable. I have also broken into Andrews' shttft,i which will be useful, as I think the reef is still going west. I put up a ris-e .6ffc at back of main tunnel, and struck the reef. It is also about 2ft thick, carrying good gold. I have two shifts ori now, and intend putting on more when timber arrives. At present we are crushing Messrs Crossenand White's quartz, which wifi ; be finished by Tuesday."
