LAKE COUNTY FINANCES.
ARREST OF THE LATE CLERK.

Queenstown, January 12. -
P. B. Boult, the late county clerk, it> under arrest for the larceny of a missing rate book, and other charges, the hearing of which is postponed for eight days. It is reported that the defalcations, so far as can bo ascertained, exceed £2000. The information was laid by Mr Batkin, secretary to the Treasury, who has been investigating the documents for some time past. Altogether there are six separate charges.
