ANOTHER RISE IN WOOL. OPENING OF THE THIRD SERIES
OF LONDON SALES. AN ADVANCE OF FROM 15 TO 20 PEK CENT. (Reuter's Telegrams.) London, September 7. The third series of colonial wool sales opened to-day before a large attendance of buyers. The catalogue comprised 13,000 bales, for which there was brisk competition. Prices range from 4d to 2d higher than at the close of last sales, greasy showing an advance of Id to l^d ; scoured, 2d ; coarse greasy crossbreds, ■&& to Id; fine greasy crossbreds, Id to lid. Melbourne, September 8. Private telegrams received in Melbourne report that the London colonial wool sales opened yesterday to an unusually large attendance oE home and foreign buyers. The market was active, at an advance of from 15 to 20 per cent, on the closing prices of last sates. The total quantity available for the present series is 265,000 bales, of which 219,000 are Australian wool.
