Since our last report a large business has beera done in the local markeb. Superior lots harer advanced about §d per lbj other sorts are at about last week's rates. • Quotations are as follow: — Selected winter greys, 14d to 14^d; good average winters, including bucks and coloured, but free of damaged skins, 13£ d: autumn and early winters, 7d to lid; best summers, 5d ; low seasons, 2d to 4d. We will be buying at top prices throughout the -whoia of the season. E. R. Bbadsuaw, New Zealand Rabbitskin Exchange, Jetty street, reports : — The auction sales on Monday, the 9th inst., were as follow : — Six bales 21 bags prime picked winter greys. 13^ to 14£ d per lb ; 4 bales 22 bags mixed to prime winters-, fld to 13 Jd per lb; 6 bales 21 bags autumus anal winters, isd to B^d per lb ; 5 bales S bags autumns* and summers, 4d to s]d per lb ; 2 bales 11 baga. summers, Jd to 3-Jd per lb ;— total, 23 bales 86 bags. Competition was very keen and extreme values were realised. My purchases during the week have been very large, at prices equivalent to the highest obtained -in the market. WiUGnr, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending August 11 as follows : — The demand continues very J>risk, especially for full-furred winter greys, and Monday's sale witnessed an advance ot trom id to Id per pound on best skius— one very choice" lot of 30 bags prime selected winter greys realising as much as 14Jd per pound.
