Tuesday, August 25. REPLIES TO QUESTIONS. In the House of Representatives, Replying to Mr O'Callaghan, whether, in consideration of the further information obtained on the subject of the advisableness of importing another supply of salmon ova, will the Government consent to place a sum on the Supplementary Estimates for this purpose, ' Sir JULIUS VOGEL said the information at present available wus not sufficient to induce the Government to put a sum on the Estimates for the purpose of sending Home a gentlemen on this special mission, but a sum of £200 would be devoted to tke general encouragement of the mportation of ova.

' BILLS PASSED. The House went into committee on the Bankruptcy Act Amendment Bill, which passed with slight amendments, was read a third time, and passed. IN COMMITTEE. The House went into committee for further consideration of the Land Transfer Bill. A long discussion ensued on clause 191, which was strongly opposed by Messrs Garrick, Buckland, and Hislop, who urged that the clause should be postponed for further consideration. The Hon. R. STOUT said he would give further opportunity for consideration of the clause on the third reading of the bill. /

Mr W.F. BUCKLAND moved to report progress, which was lost by 30 to 19 The Hon. R. STOUT said if the clauses were passed, he would consent to reconlmit the bill for its further consideration. The clause as amended was then passed. On olause 196 being reached, that value of land at time of deprivation to be the measure of damage, Mr HISLOP moved to report progress. Another long discussion ensued, after which The Hon. R. STOUT said he had promised that the House should rise early, and he would therefore consent to progress being reported. The motion for reporting progress was carried. The House rose at 11.15 p.m.
