"A. Memory.
Memory eften paints foi- me A quiet picture, and I see WenSlng through the drifting snow Two figures when the day is low. At last they reach an open door, Where welcome waits, and cross the floor, Hag carpeted, tho' clean and neat, They haste the glowing fire to greet. The cosy supper table stands And waits, while four benumbed hands Are warming in the cheerful glow The while their loosened tongues smooth flow In happy speech. Then o'er again They marvel how they missed the train. Sheltered and peaceful, dry and warm, Now laugh they at the driving storm. And when the hostess poured'the tea The twai» were feasted royally. Charmed vwe they with her sweet face And quiet, unassuming grace. •Two chatty, happy days were spent, I3re on their horaewjrd journey bent, "Iho travellers pursue^ their way. With hearts made glad by one such ray Of human sunshine—bright and warmAs sheltered them from that day's storm.
