Auckland, December 19. Seventeen Chinamen, recently employed a 9 firemen of the Triumph, left by the Ringarooma to-day for Sydney, en route for Hongkong, their passage-money having been paid thither by the local agents of Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. Wanganci, December 19. The Rev. Father Moreau, who has been a priest of the Catholic Church in New Zealand for many years, and was formerly in charge of the Dunedin district, died here this morning, aged 71 years.
