Dunedin Produce Market.
J. H. Kilgour, grain and produce broker, reports under date July 25 as follows :— Flour.— Prices are as quoted last week — viz. : Town flour, in eacks, £10 10s; 1001b bags, £10 15s; 501b bags, £11. Some country brands are telling uuder thet-o prices. Oatmeal, £11 to £11 10t) per ton. Wheat. - Good samp'es of milling are saleable, but there is not much demand for inferior quality. I quote for prime samples of TuiCiU and white velvet, 4s 2d to 4a 3d ; other milling sorts, 3s JOd to 4s. Fowl feed : The demand is quiet at 2a 8d to 313 1 Id, acco ding to quality. Oats. There has bten somo demand during the week for bright short feed simples for shipping, but there is no advance in price to report Milling iamples are also inquired for. I .quote prime mil ing at Is lOd to Is lid ; bright plump samples of t-hort teed, Is 8d to Is 9d. There are larije lots of discoloured quality ii> the market, which do not move off The demand for seed parcels is good, and for clean samples as high as 2s 3d has beet» got ; Tartarian especially are in request. Bttrluy. — 'ilu ie is not much doing, but good samples of rnaltinor quality are saleable at 43 3d to 4s 6d. Milling is nominally worth 3s 6d to 3s lOd, but the demand is very limited. Feed lota are neglected. Potatoes. -Stocks have been considerably reduced this week, but I cannot report any advance in price. My baled during tho week have been at £2 2« 6d, ex store, ba>jß extra. I have also placed several lines uirect from the farm at £2 Sis 6d to £2 33 6d, delivered at Port Chalmers. Kidneys, for peed, aie still in demand, and I have made several sa'es at £4 10s, and could place any lots coming to hand at that price. Butter.— The market is still overstocked, and as there is no shipping going forward the demand is limited to local requirements. Prime quality, in kegs, is not worth more than lOd per lb, and very Blow of sale at that. Chaff —Prices remain at recent quotations of £3 15s to £4 per ton for oaten sheaf, bags extra. Grass Seed.— l have to note an improvement in the demand, and 4s 3d can be got for machine-dressed -ainplts of ryegrass, and 4Jd per lb for cocksfoot. Rab itsKms —The demand is good, but there are very lew comi ,g foiward. £ have disposed of alo of winter skii.s, mixed with summer ones, at 14Jd per lb, but all wiuter would command 16Jd : inferior and Bucket s, 6d to 8d per lb. Hided.— l have disposed of all lots to hand at 4d to 4£d per lb for well trimmed hides, according to weight ; light and inferior, 30 to 3JJ pi-r lb. 1 allow is in fair demand at 30s to 32s 6d ; rough fat, 22s to 23s 6d per cwt.
