It was not up to ihe usual result, and leaves them at a considerable loss. They have struck the long-looked-tor atone in their upper tunnel. The}' will, when warm weather sotb in, be able to turn out good " cakes" monthly, and they wiil Boon be well rewarded for their perseverance and pfttiowce. They have tor years been contendinsr against difficulties. The Victory Company are about making another
start. Thfr Company have also for some time been wurking aeplmt the stream, and it ia to be hoped that they will bo recouped. The 0 ismopohtan Company are still driving their surface level. They expect to strike a good body of Btmib iv io or 12 di\ s 5 but as this Company have reduced thd number of hands, their progress id slow.
