Tub Weather. — Autumn is fast f ding away, and the sear and yellow leaves of the past Bummer's luxuriant foliage will ere long bj all that lemamto remind us of tho past season'd departure. The weather has been most irregular of late— one day beautifully <»arm and sunny, and the next rough, cold, and raw ; indeed, the sudd«n changes of temperature fiom heat to cold and vice versa have of late been mosti unpkasantly peculiar. Aoriculture. — Tho harvo^t has beon beyond the predictions and antici ations of many of our practical settlers, and the nuruproui. and tubilantial stacks of wheat and oata to bo aeon on many of our Maniototo farms p eera to record theso faota according to the rules of solid measurement, and indicato tho substantial result of the lato harvest.

Obituary.— lt is with tho utmost regret that I have to announce the death, somewhat buddouly, of a very old and respected resident, viz., Mr Peter Wilson, of the Victoria Mining Company, t<owburn Mr VVilaon was seized with a severe atrtack of inflammation of the lungs on Thursday last, and after much acute suffering, expired, apparently calm and peacefully, on the following Tuesday aiternoon, leaving a wife and family to mourn thoir loss. He was held in the highest respect and esteem »s a Btraight for ward, ho eat, and hard-->orkii>K man, aud one who enjoyed the popular reputation of an unblcivishcd characor. Uis remains were interred in the Hamilton cemetery, and his fu.ieral was numerously attonded.
