Mr Clark was appointed chairman, and aftur having cleurlj explained thu urgent need if a cemoiery, it was pr.>poaud by MrO. Davie— '-' fhat we petition J. P. Maitland, Esq., Commissioner of Crowu Lands, to set aside and fence a certain pirtiou of ground for burjing purposes in book IV, Mount U>d« ditiict, where a few persous have already been interred." Seconded by Mr H. Phillips, and earned unanimously.— Some of those present, especially the niunied men, exp eased great, dissatisfaction at the neglect w.tli which the E'iucadon Board had treated a petition forward, d by the residents some time a^'O tj ihat august body, wuh the view of having a school erected in this diatiicc for the education of tneir children. Saturday next was named for a t-pecial meetiug to urgu their claims on the Education Board, Koad Isr urd, &c, and test whether we really exist as a dib-tcic-t or not, for a* yet we have received iittle, if anything, from either Government or local Boards, though we pay all demands without either grudge <,r grumble.— A vote of thanks lo the Chairman ter,iniuated the meeting.
