Betting : 4 to Iv. Sweet William, 9to 2 v. Willeroo, 6 to 1 v. Mistaken, 7 to 1 v. Sardonyx, 10 to 1 each v. Morpeth, Ad Valorem, and Coulston, 20 to 25 to 1 y. any other. The battle commenced with a good start, the colours of Little Jack, Ad Valorem, Musjid, and Jessie showing most prominently, with Lochinvar at the head of the others. As soon as they had settled fairly into their strides, Little Jack settled down in the most businesslike manner to make the running for his stable mate, Mistaken, and when passing the trainer's stand he had an advantage of four lengths of Lochinvar, two lengths from whom came Masquerade, with Musjid and Lord Lisgar on either side of him, and the others in a heap, whipped in by Sweet William and Mistaken. Little Jack led into the straight by four lengths, followed by Lochinvar, Lord Lisgar, Masquerade, and Coulstoun, and making the pace a cracker. The leader showed the way past the stand with a lead of five lengths of Lochinvar, who was nearly the same distance in front of Lord Lisgar, a length from whom came Masquerade, closely waited upon by Willeroo, Sardonyx, Darebin, and Mistaken. Forcing the pace terribly, Little Jack had established a lead of half-a-dozen lengths when passing the seven furlong-post, and Lochinvar, falling back suddenly, Lord Lisgar went on second, with Masquerade and Darebin at his girths, and Willeroo and Coulston two lengths away. While attending the hill Little Jack began to tire, and as they passed the trainer's stand Mistaken, running through his horses very fast, reached his mate's girths, and after the pair succeeded Willeroo, on whom Hales was riding for his life, and a length from the son of Zetland could be seen Lord Lisgar, Darebin, Morpeth, and Sardonyx in a heap, with scarcely half a length between them. Little Jack then pulled out and allowed Mistaken up on the inside, and he rattled round the home turn, closely attended by Willeroo, Sweet William, Darebin, Sardonyx, and Colstoun, who was in Bad trouble. The lot closed up at the distance, where Mistaken came out, and showing clear of his horses looked to have the race at his mercy at the distance ; but Connors, who was stronger than he was on Monday, sat down resolutely on Darebin, and driving the big horse along at a terrible pace, shot him to the front when about a dozen lengths from home, and landed him an easy winner by half a length from Mistaken; who fought a bitter battle, but could only beat Willeroo by a neck for second place. Sweet William was fourth, at Willeroo's girths, and then on close terms came Sardonyx, Ad Valorem, Morpeth, Musjid, Masquerade, Colstoun, Stockwell, Lord Lisgar, Jessie, and Little Jack ; while Lochinvar walked in with the crowd. Time, 3 mm. 33^ sec. j THE AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB SIRES' PRODUCE S I'AKES, A sweepstake of 10 soys each, with 420 soys added by owners of the sires nominated. For two-year-olds. Aberfoyle and Narina made most of the j running to the home turn, when Off Colour took command, but Warwick, on th 6 oucside, cut them down very easily in the run home, and won a pretty race rather easily by a shoit i neck from Off Colour, who was closely followed by Aberfoyle. Third Day— March 30th. . THE ALL-AGED bTAKES, A sweepstakea of 10 soya cash, With 200 sovb added. One mile. Mr A F Smart's br c Archie, by Rapidity— Eugenic, 2yis, 6st 121b .. .. Archie gave a lot of trouble at the post, but as soon as they settled into their places he ran to the front, and, never giving anything a chance, won very easily from Ike, who was followed by Narina and Blue-and-White. Off I Colour, 6" to 1 bar two. Kaipara and Kingsdale were first away, and the latter led up the hill, but Kaipara headed him at the trainers' stand, and led round the bend, followed by Chrysophrase, Aberfoyle, Kingsdale, Warwick, and Off Colour. The lot closed up after entering the straight, and at the distance Warwick, on the outside, got to the front, but had no sooner done so than he swerved badly, and Off Colour, against the rails, shot to the front. Warwick then headed him, but the weight told, and Off Colour won by a' head after a hard battle. Aberfoyle was, three lengths away, third ; and then came Kaipara, Waxlight, Kingsdale, and Chrysophrase. Time, 1 mm. 10A sec. THE CUMBERLAND STAKES, A sweepstakes of 10 soys each, with 200 added. The Assyrian and Mistaken. Mistaken led till after passing the stand, when The Plunger joined him, and the pair raced on terms till half-a-mile from home, attended by The Assyrian, who then brokg down, and the two colts were lett to run a brilliant race, resulting in favour of Mistaken by a neck. Betting : Even and 5t04 on Mistaken, 2to 1 agat Tho Plunger, 3 to 1 Sweet William, 6 to 1 Willeroo.

Willeroo led Mistaken and The Plunger, who were racing side-by-side, a length past the stand, with Sweet William two lengths away in waiting. They ran in the same order at a strong pace till the back of the course was reached for the second time, when The Plunger ran to the front, and, despite a gallant effort on the part of Mistaken, held his own, and won cleverly by three lengths. Willeroo finished a couple of lengths from Mistaken, and Sweet William was last five lengths off. Time, 5 mm 30 sec.
