THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS IN ENGLAND.
London, June 20th.
The cricket match between the Australian team and an Eleven of Yorkshire was continued at Sheffield to-day. The weather during tho day was fine, and the number of spectators on tho ground was again enormous. Tho Aiwtralians, who had lost four wickots for 94 runs at the close of yesterday's play, resumed their first innings, and wore all disposed of for a total of 14S, of which Murdoch, who was given out lbw, contributed 97. The bowling of the Englishmen was dead on the wicket, and their fielding excellent. The Home team in their second innings succeeded in putting together 153. The highest scorers were G. Ulyett (30), Lockwood (22), and Emmett (25). The Australians then went in for _ their second innings, requiring 98 runs to win the match, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 25 without the loss of a wicket.
Note. — The score of 38 in the first innings of Yorkshire was made by G. Ulyett, and not, as previously stated, by J. Phillips.
