EDUCATION BOARD.

The usual meeting of the Education Board, held on Thursday, was attended by the Chairman (Mr J. Green) and Messrs H. Clark, K. Ramsay, M: Fraer, W. Elder, and T. Fergus.

TJEPUTATIONS.

A deputation from the Hooper's Inlet School Committee waited on the Board and asked them to provide a. few necessary conveniences in the shape of water-tanks, &c. They stated that sweats had only been provided for 25 chil-dren-^-the number it was at first thought would attend. Now, however, the number had increased to 40, and there was every prospect of this number being still further increased. The ventilation #as also very faulty.— The Chairman abated that the matters referred to by the deputation had already been granted ; or if not, at ailments i^he Board had been recommended to that, effect. He had no doubt that if the Committee "made application by letter for any improvements that were absolutely necessary, they woul'd,be granted. This would be much better (thari! sending a deputation to the Board.
