WHEREAS the land dpsoribed in the Schedule hereto 1b required to be taken undor "The Public Works Act. 1876," and "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment ict, 1878," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road tbroagh Seotlon number seventy three, Block two, Otago Peoinsula Distriot, Seotion number eighteen, Block seveD, and number twentyeight, Block five, Portobello Bay District, aud Seotion number twenty-seven, Block three, Peninsula District, all in the Provincial District of Of ago : And whereas the Portobello Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in and signed and certified &b required by the said Acts : Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony. In exeroise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by seotions twentyone, twentytwo, twenty-three, twenty-four, and twenty-five of "The Publio Works Act, 1876." and by section twenty-eight of ••The Publio Works Aot 1876 Amendment Aot, 1878,'' and of any otner power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land dc floribed in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and that, from and after the eleventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in lee simple in Her Majesty, disoharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, and Interests of what kind soever, for ue« as a road. SCHEDULE. All that pleoe or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres' and 10 perches, beta? a road-line through Seotion No. 73, Bleek 11, Otago Peninsula District, ooinmenolng at a point on the nouth-weßt corner ef Bald Section No. 73. Bounded by lines m followß : North westerly, 434 links ; generally northerly, 559, 443, 577, 643, and 784 links respectively ; north-easterly, 61 Keke ; generally southerly, 796, 642, 590, 465, and 498 links respectively ; southeasterly, 386 links ; southerly to commencing point, 60 links. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 11 perches, being a road-line through Seotion No. 18, Blook VJI., Portobello Bay District, oommenoing at a point on the south-east corner of said section. Tho above parcels of land being situate in the Provinoial District of Otago, Colony of New Zealand, and are more particularly delineated upon the plans attached to the memorial above referred to.
