Melbourne, October 12th.
Telegrams are to hand from Port Darwin announcing that the Eastern and Australian Mail Steam Ship Company's steamer Brisbane, bound from Hongkong to Brisbane, has struck on a reef in Clarence Strait, about 30 miles from Port Darwin. Assistance haa been sent from the latter place, and as the weather is fine it is hoped that the steamßr may be got off without injury. Sydney, October 12th.
Several of the smallpox patients at the Quarantine-station are reported to be seriously ill. It has transpired that his Honor Mr Justice Hargrave, primary judge in Equity, has resigned his seat on the Bench. It ia expected that Sir George Innes, Minister of Justice, will be his successor.
Dr Renwiok, M.L.A. for East Sydney, haa been appointed Secretary for Mines, vice the Hon. B. A. Baker, who resigned his portfolio in August last.

It is reported here that preparations are evidently being made at the Camp for a move of some kind ; also that Mr Rolleston has gone to Wellington to allow Major Atkinson to come here.
