A New Dunedin Club.
A meeting of gentlemen interested in the formation of a cricket club was held in the Gridiron Hotel on Friday evening, the chair being taken by Mr Fagan. After a general discussion on the bu 1 ject, ihe following resolution was carried unauiiu^uhly : "That it is desirable that cricket should be fostered iv Danedin, and that a com mittee be appointed to confer with the .City Council with the view of ascertaining the exact position the club about to be formed will ocoupy iv relation to the Oval, and if possible to treat with the late olub for the purchase of tbe pavilion, and report to a future meeting ; oommittee to conßistof Messrs M. Fagan, J. Leitb, A. Halifax, D. Jones, A. Glen, and J. Allen." It was stated at the meeting that 25 gentlemen would join the club as playing members and 30 as honorary members immediately it was re* solved to form it.
